  • How can you keep it going? 

SMART Goals

Having goals that are SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely) can help break goals and resolutions into easily achieved steps. Writing goals are sometimes hard to achieve because the goal is so big. Using the SMART method can help break down big goals into smaller bite sized pieces that can be accomplished over the next 12 months.

If you are hitting a mental block, don’t worry, and try this… Connect with another person in your life (partner, friend, elder, child) and start asking them about their New Year resolutions.  Were they different this year from last year? Maybe you can go to an exercise class together or start hosting a night of writing?

If you’re more of an introvert, you can always make those connections via social media. Alternatively, you could kick it #oldSchool and try connecting with your peeps via snail mail, because getting something that isn’t a bill is super exciting! Haven't written a letter in a while?
